They say that soccer (futbol to the Spanish) is like a religion in Spain. It would be perhaps more accurate to say that religion is like soccer in Spain, such is the devotion expressed by the Spanish to their beloved sport.  Spain has a great history of soccer, arguably only beaten by England and Italy in terms of footballing heritage. Real Madrid is the most successful soccer team in Europe.   It never fails to astonish visitors that a nation, normally so relaxed and laid-back, becomes so intensely passionate when it comes to soccer. The game has been played competitively in the country for over 100 years, and club sides have had great success on the international stage. Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are the two teams which dominate Spanish soccer and both of them are giants on the world stage. The league is called La Liga and teams also compete for la Copa del Rey (the King’s Cup). After recent years’ success, Spain has been described as the new powerhouse of European League Soccer.

Spain gives the visitors a thrilling experience as it includes many beautiful beaches, delicious food, parks, museums and art galleries.  Spain is an amalgam of people belonging to different cultures and nations. Spain is considered as the country of festivals. Several festivals, which are celebrated here, include Carnival, Semana Santa, Nochevieja, Las Fallas, Las Hoqueras, and La Tomatina, Running of the Bulls, Musci Festivals and Feria de Abril etc. The Spanish cuisine includes fresh and dried chorizo sausages, Spanish saffron, beautiful Serrano hams and canned goods. Olive oil, potatoes, peppers, tomatoes and beans are the main ingredients of this cuisine. Tapas or finger foods are the traditional snacks of Spain that are a big hit with the travelers. Some of the popular dishes in Spain are Cochinillo Asado, Paella, Gambas Ajiillo, Jamon Iberico & Chorizo and Patatas Bravas etc.
